INTRODUCTORY VERSE EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE

A brief examination of conscience is made.

Hebdomadarian: I confess to almighty God, *

All: to blessed Mary ever-Virgin, to blessed Dominic our Father, to all the Saints, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault: I ask you to pray for me.

Hebdomadarian: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins, free us from all evil, keep us safe and strengthen us in every good work, and bring us to eternal life.

All: Amen.

Blessed be God you comforts us in all our trials (2 Corinthians 1:3,4).

save the servant who trusts in you, my God.

³ Have mercy on me, O LORD, *
for I cry to you all the day long.

Hebdomadarian: Visit this house, we pray, O Lord,
and drive far from it all snares of the enemy;
may your holy Angels dwell here
to keep us in peace,
and may your blessing rest upon us always.

Hebdomadarian: May the all-powerful and merciful Lord grant us a restful night and a peaceful death.

V. Permit us to sing your praises, holy Virgin, alleluia.

V. Grant, we pray, Lord God, that we, your servants,
